I. Can't. Stop. Listening. To. "Kiss of Life." It's the cutest song, all "Once in a Lifetime" burbly with maracas and those wood sticks you clack-clack together and stupid lyrics that don't really matter in the grand scheme of things anyway. It's frightfully cute! And frightfully new! So I broke down and got Supergrass Is 10, and what it did was remind me of how I tend to forget how great Supergrass is. I was thinking, Supergrass greatest hits album? Huh what why how? but it's ge-e-e-e-enius — all the band's high points are so diverse that they come together like a cohesive album rather than a) a jumpy-all-over-the-place compilation or b) 12 versions of the same song rearranged or in different keys (Aerosmith Crazy Amazin' Cryin'). And it's not chronological! And I think I like it! The problem has always been that I hate their name, probably, but the title of this record is so cute and I love it so much that I might even forgive it. (iTunes: Supergrass Is 10 by Supergrass)
