The Monkees Catalog

monkeesAlmost as if in response to my purchase of The Wichita Train Whistle Sings (digitizing vinyl is too haaard), iTMS has just started offering almost the entire Monkees back catalog: Changes; Head; Headquarters; Instant Replay; More of the Monkees; The Birds, the Bees & the Monkees; The Monkees Present; and my ultimate fave rave, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd. That's $9.99 a pop for the Rhino reissue versions with all the bonus tracks and all the everything. Hot, baby. And almost all of them are complete! The drag is that the ones that aren't complete, like Head, you've gotta spend like $20 to buy each of the tracks a la carte, even though the missing ones are practically negligible. And I'm not paying $20 to replace my cassette copy.

Of course I'd be remiss to not point out the obvious: You don't get the booklets with all the notes and the pictures and the whatnot. Well, the more I digitize my collection, the more I realize that all that stuff does is take up space in my house. (iTunes: The Monkees)
